Laboratory
Following modern research and innovation, the laboratory department holds an important position in our hospital to perform many renowned tests such as biochemical tests, complete blood counts, blood tests, Hormonal Assay tests, Tumor Marker Tests, immunology, rheumatology, microbiology, and serology tests, and is one of the most reliable laboratories in our hospital.
Purpose of the laboratory;
To help confirm or refute a diagnosis,
To predict the duration and progression of a particular disease
To monitor the effectiveness of treatment.
Our links and collaborations with foreign countries allow us to perform almost any type of test and provide reliable results in a timely manner. We are also the most preferred laboratory on the island because of our expertise and practice in all subjects and all tests.
In our laboratory, we also conduct Tumor Marker Tests that are very useful and particularly sensitive for early diagnosis of various types of cancer, which are becoming more and more common in our population (society) in recent years, especially since our country is one of the developing countries. Prostate, breast, colon and pancreatic cancers are the most common types of cancer. Early diagnosis of cancer is a very important issue and our hospital attaches great importance to this.
*Early diagnosis is based on a combination of laboratory results, pathologic and cytologic findings, as well as radiologic and clinical findings.
It is also very common for people to suffer from diabetes mellitus (DM) due to hereditary (genetic) or age-related insulin disorders. Our lab has been studying this issue very seriously in collaboration with specialized doctors and has been instrumental in producing reliable results.
Our laboratory is attentive to patient safety, confidentiality, and patient expectations at every step of the way, from taking samples from patients for analysis to using the results for the benefit of patients. We strictly adhere to practices required by national and international service and management standards.
At each step of the analytical procedure, the functionality of the test instruments and test materials used in the laboratory is verified. In addition to laboratory-specific control methods, these quality controls are performed using international internal and external quality control samples from countries such as the United States (EQAS System Laboratories), the United Kingdom (Bio-Rad), and Turkey (KBUDEK), and the results are certified. These quality control systems play an important role in the laboratory's work system and are implemented to ensure the reliability of results and minimize the variability of results.
In addition to KBUDEK, EQAS and BIO-RAD, our laboratory is a part of Famagusta Medical Center Hospital ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
laboratory, together with our specialist doctors, has worked very seriously and played an important role in the emergence of reliable results.
In our laboratory, attention is paid to patient safety, patient confidentiality and expectations at every stage, from taking samples from the patient for testing to using the results for the benefit of the patient. Applications required by national and international service and management standards are fully implemented.
The performance of the devices and test materials used in the laboratory is audited at every stage of the analysis processes. In addition to laboratory-specific control methods, these inspections are also carried out with international internal and external quality control samples from countries such as the United States (EQAS System Laboratories), England (Bio-Rad) and Turkey (KBUDEK), and the results are certified. This quality control system is one of the systems that plays an important role in the laboratory working system applied to minimize the reliability of the results and the deviations in the results.
Apart from KBUDEK, EQAS and BIO RAD, our laboratory is within the Famagusta Medical Center Hospital ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
